Easter 2015

We had an amazing and busy Easter this year.

First we had a picnic and egg hunt with my MOPS moms.  Since we meet after bedtime, this was my first time meeting most of their kiddos. New friends!

We also attended the Easter Egg Hunt at our church.  We attended the same event last year.  We didn't have enthusastic hunters this year.  Alex is a bit too young and Colin figured out the eggs have things in them and wants to open them immediately!  It was still a great event.  Colin was also old enough to participate in the pony ride and other games and crafts.

And this year Colin colored eggs for the first time!!

Thanks to pinterest, I used a whisk (which worked awesome!!) and the mess was minimal.  Colin also got some great counting practice in counting to 10 with each dunk.

Alex seems pretty excited to get involved.  Maybe next year, little guy!
On Easter we went to an early church service and then had baskets and eggs at home.  I didn't get a great picture of our baskest this year.

The Willmunders invited us over for Easter Dinner.  Look at our big guys sitting at the table!!

It was 1st Easter for both baby brothers!  I can't believe how long it's been since someone else's first Easter!

What a beautiful celebration!

Birthday Celebration Part 1

My baby boy is going to be 2!!  While I was pregnant, my OB called him my little butterball since he was due so close to Thanksgiving.  This year, his birthday IS Thanksgiving!  I am so greatful for all of the joy this little guy has brought to my life.

We wanted Colin to have a special time with some of his friends so we had a small get together for some of his favorite little people the weekend before his birthday

Before Chaos arrived!
Gavin and I were going with a casual cars theme, but at the store, Colin insisted on Thomas, so we did a last minute switch.  He was so excited to see his cake!!

Grandma bought him a fun Thomas train tent and him and his friends had so much fun!

We bought pizza and the kids sat and ate it pretty much on their own; like big kids.  Sniffle.

My favorite part was watching the kids interact and play.  But a close second was being reminded how many people love and care about my precious son.

Colin has apparently been practicing for blowing out his candle because as soon as he saw it, he started trying!!

We didn't really intend for him to open his presents during his party because ownership is a difficult concept for toddlers and we thought the kids would get bored.  But Colin had plans of his own.  He got lots of help!

Overall, the kids were amazingly behaved and we had so much fun.  It was pretty much exactly what we were hoping for: a low stress party focused on making sure the kids had a great time.

Happy Birthday Jax!!

This weekend we celebrated the birthday of our special little guy Jackson.

Jackson's mommy and daddy always do such a fabulous job hosting parties (kind of makes me wish our children's birthdays went in the opposite order!! ;)

This year, they celebrated with a knight theem and a special musical guest!

The Birthday boy!

tattos by Miss Leslie. :)

I am so happy that I can be a part of this little guys life as he grows up.  I can't believe how much he has grown already.  He becomes a more fun and playful little guy every day and  I can't wait to see what's next!

Fourth of July

Things have been crazy around here.  On the third of July daddy crashed his bike and broke his collar bone!!  He's doing okay so far, although we haven't seen the specialist yet.  As a result, most non-essnetial tasks (including blogging) have been pretty much suspended.  But I had a minute, so here's a minute long post about the fourth of July!

Patriotic!
We are always so grateful to Jax's family for hosting such a lovely party for the fourth. This year Jax and Colin were old enough to start really interacting.  It's so fun to watch these boys grow up!

We didn't stay for fireworks (mostly because we didn't want to be stuck on the opposite side of Ladera post firework show!!) but Colin did great.  He was up until almost 10 pm!  Alex is still too little to really have a schedule and spent almost the entire party sleeping soundly in mommy's carrier!

Mommy with her clashing carrier and daddy with his sling. Quite a family!

Thanks again to the W family for a fun fourth of July!

Happy First Birthday to Jax!

I can't believe it's been a year since I met this special little man for the first time.  I met Jax for the first time on Halloween night.  I remember holding him and Colin got in his first (but not last!) kick!

Kate is one of the best people I know about celebrating.  Despite her very busy schedule and lack of free time, she does an amazing job making every holiday and occasion special.  And she really outdid her self for Jackson's Birthday!

Everything was beautiful and coordinated.  She had themed dishes, fun party games, and adorable treats for the kids.

Not to neglect dad's role!  I'm sure he did his fair share of assembly, cleaning, arranging, cooking and helping!  Kate and Rich really did a beautiful job that made me slightly wish the boy's birthdays were reversed! ;)

Colin had a great time!  Jax graciously shared his new toys including a water table and a ball pit with his friensd and Colin played duck grab with his friend Leslie and won a new Dr Suess Board book!

Jackson seemed to get a kick out of mom and dad singing to him, but he wasn't too impressed with the cake.  (Which was an anomaly because everyone else thought it was amazing!)

Happy Birthday, Jax!
