Playing

Thanks to Christmas we all had some new toys!

Skylanders
Gavin saw this game at Target a few weeks ago and got a child like twinkle in his eye.  It's a fun cooperative game and we had a great time with it.

We tried playing A Game of Thrones when we went to Palm Springs last week, but it was WAY too complicated to learn in a hotel room after a glass of wine!

The ping pong set up was a gift from my parents and it's fantastic!  Second best use of a kitchen island.

Gucci got stuffed shrimp.

Penny got an entire Farm of animals from Lisa and Chris.  Can we say spoiled?  Our animals aren't sure they aren't a bed.  If they are all together, I can almost guarantee an animal will be asleep atop them.

We can always use a few fun distractions around the house!  Thank you Christmas.

Puppy Playdate: Introducing Colby!

Last Saturday Chris and Sara brought over their new Australia Shepard.  He's an adorable little guy! Penny wasn't too fond of being herded, but they still seemed to get along more or less alright.

I'm not above bribing them into proximity

Merry Christmas, pup!

Colby is quite a bit harder on toys than Penny.  I captured the aftermath of some of the carnage.

Don't worry, Penny isn't much into toys lately anyway!

Penny Lane

Penny has been called many things.  Bird.  Alien.  Anorexic.  Funny looking.

I can attest that she has no eating disorder, but the others are still debatable!  Gavin and I got Penny in 2007.  She is originally from Iowa form a breeder we would never recommend to anyone.  Gavin flew to get her and then almost immediately left for the WSOP.  Not Cool.

The next few months I feel in love with and occasionally wanted to shake Penny. There were many sleepless nights those first few weeks, but overall, she's turned out to be a sweet pet who steals hearts everywhere she goes.

I did most of her puppy kindergarten/obedience training, but now Gavin and I do most of her training together before bed (in an attempt to exhaust her and ensure everyone gets some sleep!)

Some of our favorite tricks:

Sit!

Wait
Down
Shake

Perch
Dance
Fly off into the sunset!
